The Charles Page Family Village, formerly known as the Widow’s Colony, is a beacon of hope for single mothers striving to rebuild their lives. By providing fully paid housing, the program allows women, who meet program eligibility, to focus on education and employment, ensuring a brighter future for themselves and their children.

Empowering Single Mothers

  • Provides fully paid housing, allowing mothers to focus on education and employment.

  • Ensures children attend nearby Sand Springs Schools and provides tutoring for those in need.

  • Organizes enriching summer activities, including a week at Camp Charles on Grand Lake.

  • Features recreational areas with playgrounds and a swimming pool with lifeguards.

  • Grants access to the Sand Springs Home Activity Center for year-round programs and activities.

  • Supports mothers with access to various resources and programs designed to enhance their personal and professional development.

The length of stay is determined on a individual basis with each family in care. Some women can stay until their youngest child turns 18.

PROGRAM POLICIES

  • Eligibility Requirements

    Applicants must be widowed, divorced, or single with legal custody of two or more school-age or younger children and must demonstrate financial need.

  • Commitment to Education and Employment

    Mothers are required to enhance their job skills through additional education and/or full-time employment.

  • Periodic Progress Reviews

    Residents' progress is periodically reviewed, providing encouragement and challenges to help them better support themselves and their children.
